In the last video, my lovely assistant demonstrated how to draw a Claymore and a Katana from the back in a historical manner. We were also able to do the same to a Bastard sword as well, though the historicity of it may be lacking, the technique is feasible in medieval times, and would have worked. The myth about the myth has been busted, though this is certainly not as easy as movies make it out to be. The secret is pulling on both ends.

My lovely assistant here demonstrates quick how historical Sword on Back techniques do actually work. This was not widespread in Europe probably due to the fact that you'd need a second scabbard for storage or weather protection. The katana on back was a ninja technique (and yes, consistent with Antony Cummins' research.)
